ForMe Social Enterprise
is a social cooperative enterprise of collective and social benefit established on the 2nd of March, 2021 located in Thessaloniki Greece.
For.ME is an initiative of the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs and started as a network of mutual support of women entrepreneurship in the creative industries and has been transformed to a Female Social Enterprise.
For.ME Social Enterprise supports women in Social Economy with Training, Consultation, Empowerment Actions and finally to Production and Distribution. The need of creating For.ME Social Enterprise was put into action, in order to provide solution to women with creative and entrepreneurial concerns, who did not have enough resources to build their own business.
For.ME has both members and beneficiaries, which consist the large number of women that receive support from the Cooperativa. The core management team is led by 8 extremely experienced persons in their field, with the objective to involve as many who fit the profile of the cooperative as possible, as beneficiaries.
The main activities of the cooperative include:
Fair trade and solidarity, based on communication, transparency, and mutual respect for better equality in domestic and international trade. Sustainable development by offering fair trade terms securing the rights of marginalized producers and employees.
Creation of a cooperation network of handcraft women promoting art & cultural heritage
Retail trade of handicraft products
Organization and implementation of educational and vocational training programmes and seminars
Organization of public activities, awareness raising / promotion and social events contributing to the promotion of the enterprise’s activities
Collaboration with local authority, private and public organizations, unions, and cooperatives in Greece and abroad
THE ORGANIZATION
is concerned with the support of handicraft women and the social inclusion of vulnerable women groups through employment and entrepreneurship. The activities aim at all girls and women over the age of 18 that accept the principles and goals of the organization. Girls and women that are either already making handcrafts or wish to start their own product line, have their own company or just want a place to start selling their products. Vulnerable and marginalized women have the opportunity to learn new techniques or further develop their own skills and competences in order to become independent and earn income to support themselves and /or their families. Through its collaboration and cooperation with other institutions, networks and unions, the organization aims at helping, supporting and empowering women victims of domestic and gender based violence.
Generally as a social cooperative its members are working equally based on their skills for the organization and also receive equal shares of the profits.
